My congratulations! Scientists have discovered a new way to make our eyelashes long and bushy! Prostaglandin eyelash conditioner, if properly applied, will make you forget about poor eyelashes.
Prostaglandins are physiologically active substances that are generated from fatty acids in the human body. They are known to normalize intraocular pressure with glaucoma. But receptors to prostaglandins are also present in hair bulbs our eyelashes grow out. Prostaglandin eyelash conditioner is made of synthetic analog of prostaglandins. Scientists haven’t yet found out how exactly prostaglandin eyelash conditioner affects growth and richness of eyelashes, but experiments have proved that when prostaglandin eyelash conditioner is applied to the roots of eyelashes, eyelashes grow better, and become long and bushy. Applying prostaglandin eyelash conditioner, you will have your eyelashes a quarter longer, twice bushier and 18% darker. Unfortunately, as you stop using prostaglandin eyelash conditioner, the effect will vanish in several weeks.
Please, note that you are not allowed to apply prostaglandin eyelash conditioner on your own. In this case you risk getting blind. Prostaglandin eyelash conditioner is a prescription drug and it should be taken under supervision of a physician. Applying prostaglandin eyelash conditioner is also strictly regulated – prostaglandin eyelash conditioner is applied with applicator on the roots of the superior eyelid and never on the roots of the inferior one, as hereof the drug can easily reach the eye. Note also that prostaglandin eyelash conditioner cannot be applied to hair – it will not enhance its growth and thickening. continue reading »

How would you define fashion eyelashes? I believe the first descriptions you will give are long and bushy.
Each of us dreams of eyelashes of the kind. So, let’s see what can be done to get them. Below I will offer some easy ways to enrich your eyelashes. I don’t intend to speak of very expensive eyelash conditioners here, let’s consider homemade eyelash conditioners – the ones that do not take much time, effort and money to prepare and to use.
- Homemade Eyelash Conditioners # 1
Melt lanoline, grind it with vaseline. Take glycerin and add some water to it. Drop watered vaseline into the mixture of lanoline and vaseline. Remove your make-up with this milk (use wetted wads). Make sure your make-up does not enter conjunctiva. If wads are clear, your make-up is completely removed. Then prepare herbal or tea potion and wash your eyes with it.

False eyelashes have been applied since the beginning of the 20th century. Hollywood film stars were the first to apply false eyelashes – with long and bushy eyelashes they had majestic look which helped them stand out in the crowd. By tradition, a film star should have had magnificent look, but as not everyone could brag about good eyelashes, applying false ones helped them out significantly.
At first, false eyelashes were made of fringe. This is how false eyelashes history starts. Fringe was carefully attached to thread and by means of glue this pattern was affixed to eyelid. Obviously, these eyelashes failed to look naturally; besides, they lived a short life – just for several hours. As the procedure was rather expensive, only famous people could afford it. Moreover, artificiality of eyelashes was hardly noticed on TV.
Years went by, no new tendencies in false eyelashes history were observed. Applying false eyelashes was not that popular and it was supposed to perish soon, however in 50s the procedure became popular again. Applying false eyelashes by means of fringe was advanced and film stars could not resist the burning desire to catch the audience’s attention by their magnificent eyelashes.
Japan has taken a step forward in false eyelashes history. It is known as a country wherein beauty arouses genuine interest and new methods are produced to reach natural perfection. Japanese strived to make false eyelashes as similar to natural eyelashes as possible. They tailored false eyelashes that duplicated the real ones. First, false eyelashes were put together in bunches and were glued to eyelid. continue reading »
January 19th, 2009 -- Posted in Be Attentive: Eyelash Mites Treatment |
Considering the harmful effect that eyelash mite can have on eye health, I keep on introducing eyelash mites treatment on Fashion Eyelashes World. Apart from blepharitis described earlier, eyelash mite can cause demodectic conjunctivitis. The main symptom of this disease is conjunctiva blushing that leads to eyelashes gluing in the morning. There is another diseases caused by eyelash mite, blepharoconjunctivitis, i.e. eyelid and conjunctiva affection combined. Cornea and sclera of the person suffering from demodicosis can also be affected (keratitis and episcleritis respectively). Acute attacks of the diseases are observed in winter and summer.
Eyelash mites treatment should be continuous. Observing personal hygiene rules gains extreme importance, as it prevents autoinfection. Consider the following rules for eyelash mites treatment:
- Use disposable tissues for washing;
- Iron towels and pillow slips every day;
- Clean regularly your shaving set, glasses and spectacle-box;
- Launder your paraphernalia on a regular basis.
Do not postpone with visiting your doctor and he/she will subscribe the necessary eyelash mites treatment for you. There exist certain ointments and gels for eyelash mites treatment. The earlier you start the treatment the sooner you will get rid of the mite. Note that you should not suspend eyelash mites treatment, as in this case it will not be effective. Please, remember that it is always easier to prevent the disease than to cure it.

Oops! You were diagnosed with eyelash mite and you know nothing about it? Just keep cool; medicine has a number of weapons to fight this enemy. Your job is to learn what eyelash mite is and what basic steps to take to stanch it.
Eyelash mite is known as demodicosis. Demodex mite living on eyelashes can cause this disease. Every fourth has this mite on eyelashes, but does not even guess its existence. The thing is that eyelash mite can live on eyelashes for a long time without revealing itself. But under favorable conditions, such as immunity diseases and gastrointestinal disturbances, the eyelash mite puts itself on the map – one starts to suffer from blepharitis and even visual impairment.
Elderly people and children are mostly affected by the disease. The main symptoms of the disease are: eye fatigue, itch, edema, hyperaemia of eyelids. Along with high contagiousness, these symptoms help to diagnose the disease even at external visual examination. A patient can have damaged eyelid (eyelashes are stuck together), common sties, recurrent acne, or psoriasis. Laboratory research is pretty simple and it does not require special preparation. Four eyelashes are taken from the superior eyelid of the patient and four eyelashes are taken from his/her interior eyelid. Using a drop of alkali, a doctor examines the eyelashes under a microscope – thus eyelash mite can be easily detected. continue reading »
January 14th, 2009 -- Posted in Lash Lengthening Mascara Tips |
If I were asked to pick out only one thing needed for make-up, I would choose mascara for eyelashes. I must confess I really worship it. Mascara for eyelashes can create my mood – the way my eyes look can either inspire me for deeds or make me crestfallen…You might say that it’s ridiculous to depend on lash mascara, but if it makes me and people around smile, why not? You know what? Mascara for eyelashes is said to have very striking properties. Some companies even build their advertising campaigns on these properties. Thus, there is a belief that Maybelline originates from mascara production. T. L. Williams, the founder of the Company, has created mascara for eyelashes for his sister. It was based on vaseline and coal. The thing is that the sister’s fiancé left her, but when he saw her fashion eyelashes, he couldn’t resist the temptation and came back to her. Do you see the point? Mascara for eyelashes can work miracles!
Still, to believe in these miracles is not enough. To make mascara for eyelashes work miracles some knowledge and skills are needed.
It’s not that easy to choose mascara that suits you. There is a great variety of mascara brands offering products of different quality. You can act by the rule “the higher price you pay the better quality you get”; still this rule is not always helpful when it comes to cosmetics, as individual response is the main factor of its effectiveness. Choosing mascara for eyelashes should be purely individual. Experts, friends, magazines, ads, can give you some hints, but to learn which mascara for eyelashes suits you, you can only by looking closely at reaction of your eyes. They can “reject” an expensive mascara from elite producer, but will “like” mass market production and vice versa. And this is not the problem of quality. Mascara can contain all the needed components, but your organism can reject it. Allergic response can appear even because of one component. For instance, to prevent growth of microorganisms, special preservative agents are added to mascara. These agents, in their turn, can lead to eye diseases. continue reading »

As you know, Fashion Eyelashes World is concerned with various problems that this or that way relate to eyes. I strive to give you different hints on how to make your look more impressive, how to take care of your eyes, and how to benefit from the beauty you have. All the information you get here is based either on theory or empirical knowledge. In this article I will consider some theory related to eyelashes, or, to be more exact, I will talk about functions of human eyelashes.
Functions of Human Eyelashes
- The most obvious function of human eyelashes is a protective one. Eyelashes protect the eyes from particles, foreign objects, sunlight and perspiration.
- One more function of human eyelashes is that they serve as sensitive receivers from impulses in the world around. These impulses contribute to general sensitivity of the eye.
- Another function of human eyelashes is to inform us about current changes in our body. The absence of eyelashes signals about some illness up to neurotic behavior (it can be diagnosed when a person unconsciously plucks the eyelashes out).
- And the most pleasant function of human eyelashes is that they assist in communication. In my posts I always ask you to remember different situations when your magnificent look helped you out. So, the function of human eyelashes to enhance communication is important, isn’t it?
